Branding and logo design
Service
Branding and logo design.
A brand is not a logo. A brand is the impression a person carries away from every contact with your work. The logo is simply the most concentrated form of that impression. We help artists and law firms build a brand that is clear, honest, and recognizable, and a logo that carries it well at any size, from a phone screen to a gallery wall to the side of a building.
What this includes
What a branding engagement covers.
-
A brand conversation.
We learn your work, your audience, and your goals before we draw a single line.
-
A logo system.
The marks and lockups you actually need, no more and no fewer.
-
A color palette and typefaces.
Chosen so the brand reads the same way in every place a client will meet it.
-
Simple, written brand guidance.
So your brand stays consistent after we hand it to you.
How it works
How a branding engagement runs.
We start by understanding the business, not the graphics. We ask who you serve and how you want to be understood.
We design from that understanding, we show you a small number of considered directions rather than a confusing pile of options, and we refine the one you choose. You finish with files you own and a short guide for using them.

What this looks like for you.
A typical branding engagement begins with a working painter, a small gallery, or a two-attorney firm whose logo has drifted across a decade of business cards and email signatures, and whose colors no longer match across the website, the storefront, and the printed materials. We spend a few weeks asking the questions that get to the heart of the work, draw a small number of considered directions, refine the one you choose, and hand you a complete logo system with the marks and lockups you actually use. You finish with the files in your own hands and a short written guide that keeps the brand consistent after we step away.
If that sounds like the kind of work you need, tell us about your project.
One honest note
A new logo will not fix a business problem that is not a branding problem. If what you need is more clients or a clearer website, we will say so, and we will point you to the service that will actually help.
Next step
If your brand has drifted, or never quite got built, start a conversation and we will help you set it right.
Intended audience: both.
